  • My family and I threw a baby shower for my son and his wife. From time to food to cleanliness to the employees everything was great and wonderful. We needed the hall for 9:30, and got it at the exact time. The food was delicious! From south Indian treats for appetizers, to main course Punjabi food and to the desserts everything was delicious, warm and given. The employees that work here helped so much. They all went above and beyond and everything that was needed was given right away. Politeness, generosity, and the willingness to help us and make sure our event was smooth sailing. For us, the family it was. But you know it truly is at the end of the event when people approach you and tell you "The hall you picked was good size and beautiful. The food was delicious. We had a great time!" We would definitely recommend this restaurant and hall to other people!

  • Top notch! The food is perfect, service friendly, courteous, caring and very prompt, and the rooms are well decorated. You can tell the kitchen spends many many hours preparing for their guests arrival. The dishes here have been honed to perfection.

  • Recently held my sister's engagement ceremony here and I was very pleased with everything. The owner really took care of our needs and went above and beyond. The staff is very friendly and helped out with setting up the cake and then helped me packing it away. Although I didn't have the time to really sit down and enjoy the food, I did have it walking/running around doing things and I have to say it was amazing! Our guests were happy with the food, the presentation, the location and friendliness of staff. I highly recommend Crown of India for your next occasion!!

  • Crown of India is a stellar establishment with sumptuous food, excellent customer service and enjoyable atmosphere. We have had two major events, and the vegetarian food and customer service by Amanda and Lavante was fantastic. Brian and Suggy ensure that every detail is managed perfectly and they are also very flexible with last-minute requests. We would strongly recommend Crown of India for any event!

  • We hosted my sister's wedding reception at the Crown of India this past month, and it was a huge success!! Mr. Suggy, Brian, and the staff accommodated all of our requests (color scheme, theme, last minute center piece set up) and ensured that everything was ready by the time we got there. The guests loved the food and were very impressed with the space, décor, and how well organized they were overall! The service is very friendly and professional and everyone went to great lengths to ensure the party was enjoyable by all. We definitely recommend this place for any party!!

  • We had a party for our twins' 2nd birthday in the Jaipur Room at Crown of India and it was a big success ! The guests were all happy with the food - both the freshness & the taste. The ambiance was just right - lighting, room temperature, decor. They gave an hour before the slotted party to come in and put balloons etc. and then 1 hour after the party to remove them which was a big help for us - we had everything ready before the guests started coming in and remove everything only after everyone had left. The warmth in their service showed when they gave us some food for my husband and me (carrying out food for guests is not allowed which is very reasonable) because we couldn't really eat because we were looking after the guests - that was very kind and thoughtful ! All in all, the next party we plan we'll try to have it at Crown of India.

  • We hosted our son's first birthday party in the Bombay Hall at the Crown of India and it was a great success. All the guests were very impressed with the ample space and the decor. We had ordered several items from the South Indian menu and our guests enjoyed the delicious food very much. The service is very friendly and professional. We also appreciate that they were able to fulfill our special requests we had bearing in mind the number of children at the party. They take extra care to ensure that everything goes well. Everyone appreciated the quality & taste of food, Chef & staff provided excellent service and Great Management. Few of the items in menu - Manchuria, Biryani, Veg Kurma & Carrot halwa are taste excellent. I definitely recommend celebrating any parties in this restaurant.

  • I have been coming to Crown of India for about 13 years now. The buffett is to die for! I have never had a bad experience there. Elegant, affordable and DELICIOUS! I used to go once a week until I moved to Scranton,Pa. Now I pay a visit three or four times a year. I have yet to find an Indian restaurant that even comes close to Crown of India. If you have never been here please try it. However I must warn you,you will be addicted.

  • I had been to Crown of India (COI) couple of times and also ordered at home. And every time we have got an excellent taste. I am vegetarian and COI resembles me that India taste of Pure Veg restaurants (Pune). I would love to go there again and again. My yesterday's order on the special occasion made our dinner excellent.

  • Last Saturday, my friend invited me to the Crown of India to celebrate my birthday. She knew that I love Indian food. I was immensely delighted with her choice of restaurant. As soon as I entered the front door, I was impressed with the elegant decor and the soothing atmosphere. We experienced impeccable service and the attention we received made us feel quite special. And then our dinner feast arrived and there were so many courses and everything was amazingly delicious. The entire experience was unforgettable and my friend and I are already talking about our next visit.

  • This restaurant is one of the best ever! I really love the Vegetable malai Kofta, and the Saag Paneer. I will recommend it to anyone looking for a quality meal that feels like comfort food while incredibly refined at the same time.

  • Tonight was my first time at Crown of India - and I will most certainly go back! The wait staff was very attentive and the evening was made more personal by a visit from the owner. It was easy to tell that he takes pride in his restaurant - and that he is very committed to his customers happiness! I enjoyed a great meal of vegetable samosas and chicken tikka masala. I look forward to going back again to try more of their entrees.

  • The Crown of India has the best Chicken Korma I have ever tasted! I typically order this dish when I go out for Indian and out of all the Indian restaurants I've been to (which is a lot) Crown of India's Korma was the best by far. Absolutely delicious! I will definitely be going back.

  • "I was in early this evening with my daughter, and you helped us pick 2 dishes for our dinner, which we ordered, and took home with us. Joanna's chicken was delicious. The chicken was moist and tender...the sauce was excellent, and the vegetables were fresh. The whole dish was a delight. You ordered the Lamb Rogan Josh for me. I have to tell you...it was one of the most enjoyable meals I've had in years. The lamb was perfect. The sauce was rich and hearty. You were so kind to us, and we will certainly be back. I hope you had a good evening. Thanks again for your warm hospitality."

  • "Every year my college hosts a multicultural buffet. They order chinese, japanese, korean, filipino and indian food. We get the indian food from crown of india. As the co-ordinator for this event, I went to crown of India to see the actually restaurant. As soon as you open the door, the smell of curry seeps out . At that moment, you know its going to be good. I introduced myself to the owner and he was extremely friendly. He is willing to bargain over food prices and that is extremely helpful. As for the actual food itself, it is delicious. It is really authentic indian. The naan is competitvely priced and the allu chaat is amazing; so is the tandoori chicken that we order every year."

  • "As others have mentioned, the owner of this place is an absolute delight...he always makes sure you have a pleasant dining experience on every visit. The food is good & the best thing about this place is that there's almost never a wait to get served. It's definitely a great Indian food dining option in Plainsboro!"

  • “Crown of India is by far THE best buffet in the area.  I'm not into buffets because they're generally just not very good.  Indian buffets are the exception to my rule; however, even Indian buffets are usually a disappointment as the food lacks flavor and spice to satisfy the typical American palate.

Crown's buffet isn't hot and spicy, but it still filled with Indian flavors and goodness with a mild kick to various dishes.

As for the a la carte items - everything is pretty darn good.  From the samosa and the chaat, to the naan and the raita, to the curries - everything is really fresh and prepared exactly as you request.  I ask for spicy and they bring spicy.  They don't assume because I'm not Indian that what I "really" meant was mild to medium - know what I mean?  Service is friendly and attentive.  So, yes, check out the Crown and you won't be disappointed.  BYOB.

Only negative: no dosa on the menu!"

  • “I'm very loyal to this restaurant because I've been coming here for almost a decade!!!!   For a while it was almost like our second kitchen.   So, I love it.  Having said that, I must add that recently the food is not always consistent and sometimes it is hit-or-miss.  I personally prefer the a-la-carte dinner or to order take-out to their buffet lunch.  The service is always good and friendly.   The decor is very tacky but I don't mind, because the food is usually very tasty and the prices reasonable (especially the buffet which is worth a try)."

  • “After a nice hike/walk through the Plainsboro Preserve, my friends and I were getting hungry and so we found this place through a quick online search since we were craving Indian. What suck luck we were able to come across this place. We had their lunch buffet, which was really very good. I really hate when buffets (of any sort) have too many choices, none of which end up being any good, but Crown of India had at least 7-8 hot options along with the typical sides found in Indian restaurants- chutrneys, naan, rice, tomatoes, cucumbers, onions, other sauces. All the dishes I had were really good and kept very warm. My favorite was their aloo gobi and their chicken makhni. The service was also wonderful. The owners (I presume) came by twice to ask us how we were enjoying the meal and were so friendly and eager to talk. Our empty plates were cleared off without asking, and our water glasses were never empty. This place is a little further away from me, which kind of sucks, but will be willing to come back again on a weekend. The buffet was also a little under 10.00- great deal on such wonderful food!"

  • “I stopped by Crown of India for the first time today, and was very impressed with the quality of the dining experience. I had the lunch buffet and everything was presented well in individual chafing dishes, and tasted like it was made fresh just for me. There was quite a variety of items to choose from and the seasoning was just right. I was informed that the interior of the restaurant was recently expanded and renovated, with hand carved wooden doors and wall accents imported from India, as well as the furniture. It has been tastefully done. I will be back."

  • A friend invited my wife and I to try Indian food at this restaurant. We weren't sure if we were going to like it but I must say, it was GREAT! Everything about this place is really good, especially the food. If you haven't tried it, I highly suggest you give it a try. We're definitely coming back and soon!

  • Discovered this restaurant last Friday evening returning from a long business trip. The freshness of the food, the friendliness and attentiveness of the staff along with the elegant decor and delightful atmosphere made this experience a truly enjoyable culinary and cultural exploration of the delights this part of the world has to offer.
